the UK government’s autumn budget, presented by Chancellor of the
Exchequer Philip Hammond.
• Brexit talks in a critical phase
• Will set aside a further £3bln for Brexit preparations
• UK at last seeing debt peaking
• OBR forecasts on GDP growth:
2017 - at 1.5% vs. 2% in March
2018 - at 1.4% vs. 1.6% in March
2019 - at 1.3% vs. 1.7% in March
• OBR forecasts on budget deficit:
2017/18 - £49.9 billion (2.4% of GDP) vs. £58.3 billion (2.9% of GDP) in March
2018/19 - will be below 2% of GDP vs. 1.9% in March
